Maybe we were too ambitious last week, with the weather deteriorating and strong winds on the way……

On Sunday we were dismayed to discover that the winds had blown down two of the sections of the new eastern wall. We shouldn’t have been too surprised because they were unsupported sections, but it was still a disappointment. However, our builders got stuck in and by mid-morning on Monday the mess had been tidied, the bricks and blocks had been cleaned, and reconstruction was underway. By the end of the day the damage had been rectified. By Wednesday they had gone as high as they could without scaffolding, so this wall was scaffolded whilst work continued on the other walls. By Friday, the lintels over the door openings in the eastern wall were in and the wall was completed.
