Scouting during the Coronavirus Crisis

We have plans to help …. read on! Now that everyone is more settled into the routine of coping with the constraints of Coronavirus, we we would like to offer our  young people some scouting activities and badges that they can do at home, but obviously some of the activities will require parental support.

We have a variety of ways that we can keep in touch with everyone.  Parents of Beavers and Cubs have a WhatsApp group for any questions you may have and as a place to send evidence.

We now have a 1st Weaverham Sea Scout Group Facebook page.  This is a closed group and parents of our beavers, cubs and scouts can join.   The Explorers have their own facebook page.

We are also in the process of setting up virtual meetings for the sections using Zoom.  The Scout section held  their first meeting this  Friday 3rd April;  Beavers and Cubs hope to follow next week.  We are in the process of testing the system ourselves as we are completely new to this.

We can also post the details of the programme for each section on this web site under the individual sections.

So however you and your child/children would like to be involved, the choice is up to you.

We hope that you will try and stay in touch with us, in whichever way you feel is right for you and your family.

Please note that this is not compulsory and it is not a competition.

It is not intended to add further pressure to parents, especially when you are already trying to keep on top of schoolwork, but we hope that it will encourage our young people  to continue with their scouting, staying in touch with the rest of the group and having a bit of fun too!
