Now that the building is nearly water-tight, work has begun inside. First to go in was insulation to the roof. Ultimately there will be two layers totalling 175 mm thickness and the pictures below show how much of the stuff there is!
At the same time the “First Fix” internal works have started, with the installation of a new 35mm copper main for the gas supply to the kitchen from the new junction box at the Church Street end of the building, and new pipework for the Hall radiators.
Whilst this was going on, the plasterboard for the internal finishes was delivered. Conrad and Jamie had to move this indoors – all 1.7 tonnes of it!
Finally, the electricians have begun to lay the cables and wall boxes for the lighting, sockets and switches. Every day sees more progress….
